Leo Geller Trio + Etienne Déconfin
A Tribute to John Coltrane
A new project from Lyon-based guitarist Leo Geller, with his longtime musical companions Fanny Bouteiller on double bass and Malo Thiery on drums.
They invited the wonderful pianist Étienne Déconfin to join them in playing and celebrating the music of the legendary saxophonist John Coltrane — specifically the stylistic period around 1963, centered on « Both Directions At Once ».
On the program: wild swing and deeply inhabited improvisation.
